'Geopoliticus Watching the Birth of the New Man' 1943
This painting initiates Dali's classic period, replacing much of the personal symbolism of his Surrealist period. The ideas were derived from contemporary events, his Spanish heritage and Catholic symbolism. The man emerging from the egg is rising out of the new nation, America. The enlargement of Africa represents the growing importance of the Third World, and the draped cloth represents the placenta of the new nation. Measures 14 inches x 11 inches, including matting. Ready to frame.
