This early work appearing on an attractive and versatile tunic is a view of Cadaques from the rocky terrace above Dali's family home. It is far from his celebrated surreal style. Cezanne's influence is evident in the geometric treatment of the landscape, and the stocky girls in the foreground are reminiscent of Picasso's stylized women. A balloon rising above the landscape and a tiny white sailboat on the bay below suggest a leisurely holiday atmosphere. The design of the trees, sinuous and rhythmic, contrasts with the block-like houses in the distance and infers tranquility.
